BOW

Next quarry is another morning.

Finish one campus. Geology waits. Attention does not.

Throw the bolt and stop. “If time remains” is how a second lock binds. Write the refusal at breakfast, while you still like yourself.

Cooler cards, still a stop

February can give palace walking without geology. Old Cairo plus one nave if courtesy holds. Bab al-Khalq as its own downtown morning. The train north already billed you; Alexandria is a night in another city or it is not on the card.

July owns one campus. Say Giza’s new house, or the square, or Fustat. Mean it. Sand will still be geology at dawn.

Unfinished obelisk at Aswan
A blank left in granite. Cairo cannot finish it.

Two August campuses are for people who train. A third is a taxi story.

Hang the ring. Do not invent a second keyway.

Hang the ring when the bolt is home. A cousin saying “close enough” is how a lock binds. A small-looking map is not a ward. August binds faster than February. Write the stop while breakfast is still pleasant. Cooler weeks still need that sentence on the tag. Palace walking on one date; geology on another. The old hall, and nothing west of the Nile. Old Cairo without downtown metal. Ambition is cheap. The looking is whatever you refused to hang.

July iron holds one lock. Name the new Giza house, or Tahrir, or Fustat, over breakfast — and mean it. Geology will still be geology tomorrow; your eye will not. Cooler air can allow palace walking without geology, or the square without sand already spent. A nave after Coptic wood only while courtesy still holds. Joinery at Bab al-Khalq keeps its own downtown clock. The railway north already billed a looking; Alexandria is an overnight in another city or it is not filed. Nile dusk after indoor hours is leftover light, not a licence to begin again.

The unfinished obelisk still in its Aswan quarry
A blank left in the granite. Nobody finished it from a Cairo morning, and neither will you.

Granite that stayed in the quarry

Hossam measured the trench at Aswan until he could say the length without the tape. Yara said the bolt was home. Philae stayed off the tag. A “quick look at the sand” from a Giza window the week after stayed off the tag. The unfinished obelisk is the emblem of this page: a blank that was never filed, sitting in its bed, teaching more than a finished needle in a plaza. Write the stop before anyone hires a car, including the stop that looks like rest.

On 6 June the Tahrir garden sitting ended with coffee on Adly, not with Bab al-Khalq “because the walk passes the door.” That refusal belongs to Tahrir as a finished throw, and to this page as a rule. Sharing a fence with geology is a map, not a ward. Geology keeps its own kilometres and its own clock. February does not gift a second lock. A dawn landing and a midnight flight is one cut. Choose a house. A seller of three museums and a boat is selling height. It is not a key we file.

The terraces at Deir el-Bahari sit in another governorate. A Cairo looking does not unlock them. The obelisk plate is southern and later than the Tahrir sitting. Southern granite does not unlock a downtown metal room. Downtown metal does not unlock a Fustat hush. Each throw has a ring. Hang it.

Hanging the ring is a physical act. On Adly the spent keys hang on a nail, not in a pocket, so the next blank is not mixed with a finished one. Write the stop the same way: on paper, before the car, including the stop that looks like rest. A pocket full of finished bits is how a morning binds.

File the bit once. Then throw the bolt. The house still names the hour on its own glass. This desk will not pick a second lock on a morning already home.

From the bow

The campus fence also faces geology. Why not both?

A fence is not a ward. Geology keeps its own kilometres and its own clock.

In February, may I hang two houses?

More room. Still write the stop. Cooler air does not gift a second lock.

Coptic wood, then metal at Bab al-Khalq?

Two attentions. Heat: pick one. Milder air: only with no palace sitting between them.

Dawn landing, midnight flight.

Then you have one cut. Choose a house. Geology will still be geology next time.

A seller offered three museums and a felucca.

That is height for sale. It is not a key we file.

Why an unfinished obelisk on a page about stopping?

Because a blank left in granite is the honest emblem. Finishing it from Cairo is how locks bind.
